I don't know about you but I'm sick of perfection. Photoshopped and totally unrealistic images make me yawn.
We look at these pictures with (nail/skill) envy and just end up feeling defeated instead of feeling inspired.
Don't get me wrong. I'm all into beauty but I'm more interested in improvement then carefully crafted fakeness.
So I decided to show you how the new colors apply on real nails. Like the nails our clients come in with. There you go! Are you feeling better? :)
The nails didn't ended up perfect but the client was happy and I'm sure (if she uses the oil I sold her) her nails will be much better next time. It's a process. And clients are excited to be part of it.
So about the new Shellac "Chic Shock" collection. Well, the collection is great!
At first all 4 seemed very thick and very pastel-y. A little scary, right?
I shuck the heck out of them but they still seemed very thick.
Surprisingly the application was not difficult.
All covered well in 2 coats.
Formula of the 3 out of 4 is excellent. As suspected, the yellow ("Jellied") goes on a little patchy, but nothing too crazy.
Candied is similar to Winter Glow, a tiny bit pinkier (so maybe between Winter Glow and Be Demure) but I think that the formula is better.
Jellied is very similar to Sun Bleached. Very.
Taffy, that was a surprise. At first I thought meh.... but it impressed me. There is nothing close to that one in Shellac the collection and the formula is flawless.
Gummi- The closest is Wisteria Haze but Wisteria is cooler.
If you nail obsessed and you want to see how I dealt with the client's challenging nails in real time here is a treat for you
